Luxembourg

Trip: Luxembourg > Brussels > Amsterdam > Bruges > Fredrichshafen > Zermatt

Luxembourg is the fairy tale city of Europe. We started late night from Copenhagen by a City Night Line. The tiresome journey with three changes at Koln, Coblenz and Trier was proved worth it the moment we entered the realms of this city.

The first place to target was the famous Casemates which have been declared a UNESCO World Heritage Site. The intricate secret tunnels at the bottom of Luxembourg Castle kept fascinating us for hours before we finished with each wing.

We came out to stand at the acclaimed 'most beautiful balcony of europe'. It was a view to be watched for a while. Changing landscape, old bridges, castle, church, river and a bustling town - all were compressed in a single view.

We walked around, visited a few museums and then returned to our youth hostel rooms. The walks were memorable and a more imaginative wanderer would have expected elves and fairies on the roads of Luxembourg.

The next day we started at ease for Brussels
